Position Objective
To perform an efficient and effective emergency response service, hazard removal, waste removal and general labouring across the City of Charles Sturt.
Key Responsibilities
Follow defined Work Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures related to the work being undertaken in order to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace.
Actively identify, report and, where possible, fix workplace hazards.
Responsibility for and actively involved in identifying and managing risk in day to day activities and projects.
Provide an emergency response service as outlined in the Emergency Response Plan.
Undertake a variety of tasks as directed by the Workgroup Leader or Coordinator Engineering Works.
Ability to work flexible hours, with after hours and weekend work as required.
Perform operating and labouring duties associated with maintenance & construction projects across the Field Services Portfolio including but not limited to construction, horticulture maintenance, arboriculture.
Work to daily allocated work orders to meet designated customer service levels and work standards and procedures
Work closely with members of the public and service providers in a friendly and polite manner.
Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of hand-held motorised tools, plant and equipment.
Responsible for the plant and equipment requirements on behalf of the team, including:
- Ensuring all plant has SOP in conjunction with WH&S procedures.
- Liaise with Team Leader Fleet Services/workshop on plant related matters.
- Notify Work Group Leader of all plant issues for follow up.
- Review plant usage in conjunction with Workgroup Leader/Coordinator.
- Ensure all plant checklists are submitted with the accurate information.
Assist in the development of SWP for operations involved with the construction and maintenance team.
Responsible for operating computers/tablets as required for works allocation, data entry, and reporting or communication purposes.
Responsible for accurate manual and computer-based records, including but not limited to;
- Ensuring timesheets are filled out correctly and passed on to relevant Workgroup Leader.
- Ensuring work orders are completed including all required information (as per service level agreement).
- Ensuring cart notes, delivery dockets and contractors paperwork is recorded and passed on to relevant Workgroup Leader.
- Ensuring Traffic Management Plans are recorded and carried out.
- Ensuring works orders are received, processed and closed including notes as required.
