City Council Accounts Receivable Officer

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Maintain Sundry Debtor Systems

• Maintain Sundry Debtor’s Master file with high integrity, following up on outstanding debts.
• Ensure the timely issue of invoices, statements, and reminders to customers.

Debtor Management

• Key liaison for Council’s debt collection contract, ensuring the Debtors' balances is monitored accurately.
• Assist Council staff with inquiries relating to debtor invoicing and payments.
• Assist customers/agencies with invoice and payment inquiries

Reporting and Reconciliations

• Assisting with the processing of month-end and year-end tasks relating to accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare monthly reports on aged debtors' position, bad debts, and provision for doubtful debts.

Auditing

• Provide all necessary assistance to Council’s internal and external auditors to facilitate an efficient audit
• in accordance with the agreed time frames and scope of the audit.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Certificate III or IV in the Accounting related field or equivalent knowledge skills and experience
• Demonstrated experience in Accounts Receivable collection including experience with computer-based debtor systems
