City Manager - Melbourne

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced City Manager to join the team in our state-of-the-art purpose-built student accommodation in the heart of Melbourne, Australia.

As the City Manager you will be responsible and accountable for 2 of our spaces in Melbourne, and ensure that our future shaper Yugoer's deliver best in class experiences to our students.

This position has both an operational and strategic focus with the City Manager leading our stakeholder relationships with our trusted university partners.

Reporting to the Area Manager here is a snapshot of what you will do;

• Use your upbeat, outgoing personality to lead, mentor and guide the team to ensure that our spaces are running smoothly
• Take full responsibility of the budget and P&L, and the financial performance of the spaces. You’ll cross all the T’s and dot the I’s, to and ensure you are managing costs and maximising profit and delivering BSC results.
• Follow up on all sales opportunities and ensure the property is at capacity through short term and long term lets and summer business activities
• Build, manage and cultivate strong University partnerships and local relationships
• Drive sales and marketing activities to ensure that our spaces are full and all marketing channels have been utilised to their full potential.
• We want our students to keep returning to a place that they feel comfortable. Support and guide our facilities team to maintain our spaces to the highest standards.
• Manage ‘the good’ and turn around the ‘not so good’ - meaning you will handle complaints and offer excellent customer service to your students
• Use your advanced knowledge of safety, security, compliance and building management to ensure core operating procedures are adhered to, followed up on and we are providing a safe secure home to our students
  
• BE TRUE and REAL by bringing to life our Yugo pillars through monthly activities with our students
• Be BOLD and OPEN through ongoing feedback to all stakeholders, this means celebrating wins and not being afraid to give feedback when things may be going off-track.
• Be a smooth operator and ensure the smooth running of the operational calendar and student life-cycle from arrival, departure, and summer turn around

Sound good so far? Here’s what you’ll need;

• Real Estate license and good working knowledge of Australia real estate legislation (or the commitment to complete the qualification)
• At least three years experience running a residence within hotels, hospitality, or better yet student accommodation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain quality relationships
• Passion to ensure that students literally have the best experience of their lives whilst living with us a
• Demonstrates behaviours consistent with our values of integrity, commitment and energy.
• Experience within a fast paced, target driven environment with strong focus on sales and marketing
  
• Global mobility and promotion from within is something we are really passionate about. For any internal candidates, Yugo would support your visa process to work from Australia. A three-year commitment is required.
