About the role
A full-time opportunity has become available for an experienced Civil Designer or Civil Design Engineer to carry out Civil Design and documentation in urban development (roads, stormwater drainage, sewer and water) and infrastructure projects. You will work alongside Civil Engineers, Surveyors, Town Planners and Drafters in our tight-knit Oran Park team and in conjunction with our other offices within the organisation including overseas. Key responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be part of the energetic, high quality driven mindset team to complete civil engineering design tasks including:
- Undertake civil engineering design, modelling, and calculations for urban design projects in residential, commercial, industrial sectors, and infrastructures:
- Road geometric design;
- Bulk Earthwork and site grading;
- Public domain design work;
- Stormwater drainage systems (as per Council specification and AS3500.3) with Water Sensitive Urban Design Approach (WSUD);
- Carry out turning paths analysis; and
- Prepare bill of quantity.
- Prepare technical drawings for conceptual design and detailed design
- Prepare submission documentation for DA, SWC approvals
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and or equivalent experience;
- Minimum 2 years experience in the Civil Design consultancy;
- Good foundation of drafting skill from concept design through to detailed design ;
- Experience with Local Government Area and relevant Australian Standard in urban development;.
- Current C-class driver’s licence.
Desired Skills:
- Good foundation of civil engineering design, having ability to research, find relevant codes and standards, read them and apply appropriately into design project
- Be able to back up your own work with sound justification using relevant references;
- Know how to use AutoCAD (2D) as a tool and apply drafting skills, design knowledge to present technical drawings;
- Be able to use 12d Model at least at a basic level and eager to learn more;
- Know AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus but not compulsory;
- Know Drains and MUSIC software packages;
- Ability to identify technical problems and propose solutions;
- Have a sense of urgency, the passion and drive to go above and beyond
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects with prioritisation;
- Great team work spirit; and
- Excellent attention to detail and take ownership of your work
