The OpportunityThe successful incumbent will participate in the delivery of concrete working for civil maintenance and construction activities.

- Position Remuneration: Level 5 + Construction Workers Allowance (CWA) ($75,294.95) total remuneration package which is inclusive of 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% leave loading based on a permanent full-time employee.

To undertake this position, you will have demonstrated experience involving concrete works for local government construction and maintenance (or equivalent) work.
You will have a high degree of concrete finishing and form setting skills.
Further but not limited to, you will have the ability to maintain a flexible approach to new and challenging circumstances and a demonstrated willingness to acquire new skills and achieve high work quality and productivity.
The position's focus will be:
- Perform designated tasks related to all aspects of non-structural concrete work related to maintenance and construction of roads, traffic islands, roundabouts, roadside furniture, stormwater drainage, footpaths and bikeways and coastal infrastructure.
- Undertake general construction and maintenance labouring tasks as required.
- Support Supervisors and Gangers in the delivery of high quality, reactive/proactive and programmed civil works construction and maintenance.
- Ensure that all daily documentation is completed on time including, but not limited to, daily running sheets, costing details and time sheets.
- Maintain effective communications with other team members, team leaders and senior officers to provide an open and free flow of information within Council.
- Participate, as required, in the after-hours duty roster and provide assistance during emergencies such as floods, bushfires, etc.
- Support and actively participate in a team approach to upgrade technical knowledge and ongoing training of current work policies, practices and procedures including legislative and industrial obligations in the area of civil works maintenance and construction.
