The Claims Assistant role is to provide administrative support enabling Employers Mutual to proactively manage Workers’ Compensation claims effectively within the legislation and achieve compliance with set performance measures.
This position operates in a high volume and deadline driven environment that focuses on the pro-active administration and management of claims.
This will be a permanent position commencing from September based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home once fully trained.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain robust and productive internal and external relationships to assist the Team proactively manage claims by providing administration support including:
- Administrating and processing of claims, sorting mail and filing as requested
- Accurate and timely preparation of documentation including letters to customers
- Organise medical appointments, travel, investigations, police reports and interpreter services
- Ensure invoices and payments comply with GST/ITC guidelines
- Request and process invoices and third party or worker reimbursements
- Manage basic phone enquiries such as unpaid accounts and changing medical appointments
- Communicating with policy holders regarding wages, accurately calculating wage entitlements and issuing payments
- Assisting with the finalisation of claims
- Filing, sending files and other ad-hoc administrative tasks
ABOUT YOU
- Qualification aligned to Business Administration is advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, working within in in a fast-paced business environment
- Minimum intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office suite
- High level of typing accuracy
- Strong communication, attention to detail and time management and organisational skills Ability to take direction and a willingness to learn
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
