The Licensing and Advisory Services (LAS) unit is responsible for administering four key streams of operations - processing and advising on licensing and authorisations; the provision of advice on work health and electrical safety matters; triaging of workplace incident and complaint notifications; and compliance and business engagement to support the licensing framework.
The Authorisations and Advisory Services team implements the licensing and authorisations framework including high risk work, accredited assessors, asbestos removalist and assessor, demolition and plant registration, as well as providing advice to stakeholders and the general public on work health and electrical safety matters.
Client Services Officers provide high quality information to the clients of the Office of Industrial Relations about a broad range of workplace health and safety information and services and apply departmental policies and procedures to process applications for High Risk Work licences and other authorisations.
How you will be assessed
We'll assess your merit for this role by looking at what you've done previously - the knowledge, skills and experience you've built, your potential for development and your personal qualities. We'll consider how well you:
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills to implement and maintain financial, human resource/personnel management, fleet and administrative IT systems including computerised records management and file tracking/retrieval systems and associated documentation, practices and procedures
- Have proven keyboard, data entry and telephone handling skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a member of a team with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Have a sound knowledge of, or the ability to learn, understand and correctly apply relevant workplace health and safety legislation, regulations and policies and procedures relating to human resources and financial management, ordering of goods and services and payment of invoices.
