What you will be doing:
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a qualified Clinical Nurse Consultant to be a part of the implementation/transition of the Emergency Protocols Initiating Care within Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The Clinical Nurse Consultant 2 (CNC2) is an expert nurse who will provide leadership, advice and recommendations on all aspects of nursing and consults on matters relating to the safe and appropriate use of nursing practices.

EPIC?seeks to adapt and build on existing educational frameworks and guidelines and existing Local Health District emergency department?nurse-initiated guidelines, to create a state-wide approach to?consistent?delivery of?clinical?care and professional development for emergency nurses.

The Project Officer will work collaboratively with the Emergency Care Institute (ECI), Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI), eHealth, LHD managers and clinicians to facilitate this state-wide process. This position will report to the Nurse Manager Strategy and Initiatives and undertake the full role of project management activities including project planning, stakeholder negotiation, and milestone reporting.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed: * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and current Driver’s License and willingness to use same as required for the position
  • Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in Emergency and post graduate qualifications in Emergency or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organisations or teams simultaneously, while balancing competing objectives.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and support multidisciplinary teams in a public sector environment to provide quality service delivery.
  • Proven ability to communicate and negotiate change and improvement strategies with senior clinicians and executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex information rapidly and accurately.
  • Established relationships, trust and credibility with key stakeholders involved in Emergency care
  • Evidence of consistent demonstration of behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation with all stakeholders including colleagues, direct reports patients and consumers.
