About the role
SLHD Mental Health Nursing Services are seeking a suitably qualified registered nurse with demonstrable knowledge and experience in evidence based mental health nursing, clinical and quality frameworks and clinical leadership skills.
This Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 (CNC2) position is a SLHD Mental Health Service appointment working as part of the Collaborative Centre for Cardiometabolic Health in Psychosis (ccCHiP) clinic.
The CNC2 provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within Mental Health Services through the delivery of specialist consultant service which, develops implements and evaluates care processes for patients with complex health needs. Providing leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice, initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services, contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs and participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the Mental Health Service.
The intention of the CNC2 will be a specific focus on supporting the health and wellbeing of people living with a severe or enduring mental illness. The CNC2 will be required to work in close collaboration with medical and mental health clinicians to ensure the best physical and mental health outcome for the individual being cared for.

Has current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field
Has the ability to participate in a Monday-Friday roster

About working for SLHD
This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy .
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
