About the role
The Gastroenterology team requires a Temporary Part Time (parental leave relief) Registered Nurse to manage and improve the patient experience for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Based in the Hospital's Outpatient clinic the IBD Nurse will assist with management of the IBD clinic, in addition to supporting patients in the community via the IBD telephone advice line.
The successful applicant will be required to have excellent communication skills, enthusiastic, deliver high quality care. You will possess sound clinical knowledge; previous experience in an outpatient setting will be an advantage.

Essential: Full & current AHPRA registration
Essential: Have completed or be prepared to work towards completing the 5 modules in Gastroenterology nursing with QUT
Essential: Minimum of at least 3 years nursing experience post graduation
Essential: Effective high level communication skills, both written and oral (direct person-person and via telephony)
Essential: Demonstrated understanding of patients with a chronic disease and ability to meet their needs in a helpful, caring and professional manner
Essential: Demonstrated clinical knowledge in IBD, Gastroenterology and related Colorectal surgery
Essential: Demonstrated understanding of outpatient services, policies and procedures
Essential: I agree, to commence employment, I am required to meet Barwon Health’s immunisation requirements (including full Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination) set out in the Staff Immunisation Policy. I acknowledge that meeting this requirement is mandatory and a condition of employment subsequently offered.
