Where you'll be working
You will be job sharing with another experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant within the Communicable Diseases team that is comprised of other registered nurses, medical practitioners and an epidemiologist. You will be a key member of the team and also work with the Immunisation and Environment Health teams within the Public Health Unit.
What you'll be doing
You will be using your skills and expertise to manage the public health aspects of communicable diseases among residents in the Northern Sydney Local Health District. This will include undertaking surveillance, investigations and interventions related to notifiable diseases with the opportunity to provide education to other practitioners and contribute to evidence based public health practice. As the unit is part of a statewide Health Protection network there is the potential to be contribute to the management of statewide policy and intiatives.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

AHPRA Registered Nurse (Division 1), with minimum 5 years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in public health. Must have an approved post graduate qualification relevant to public health or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification.
Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of communicable diseases, communicable disease control policies and procedures, public health emergency management and public health clinical nursing practice
Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality education for a broad range of audiences.
