An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join the Cardiac Diagnostic Centre at Wollongong Hospital.
The successful candidate would require extensive cardiac catheter and pacing lab experience.

What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Educator role will provide for the coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education (including programs) at the ward/unit level. Such education may include orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing staff and casual nurses as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff and supporting the clinical placement of students.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager/Nurse Manager and wider hospital team to develop, implement and evaluate clinical education programs relevant to the specialty, provide clinical supervision at point of care and an ongoing focus on quality and safety.

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliance
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.
Selection Criteria:
Current relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications with extensive relevant clinical experience or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching in the health care environment utilising adult learning principles.
Demonstrated experience as a clinical facilitator at point of care and preceptor.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety frameworks.
Demonstrated ongoing commitment to own professional development.
