An exciting nurse educator leadership opportunity exists for an experienced Chemotherapy Nurse to apply for the Clinical Nurse Educator position to support the operational set-up and commencement of the NEW Chemotherapy Unit at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital (HKH). The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students.

Where you'll be working
The NEW 6-chair Chemotherapy Unit at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital comprises of a multi-disciplinary team inclusive of medical, nursing and Allied Health staff.
What you'll be doing
This 16-hour per week position will be guided by the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in leading, developing, co-ordinated and implementing all structured learning for nurses within the HKH Chemotherapy Unit, and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital as required. Days of week to be negotiated with the successful applicant. There is potential for additional days prior to the opening of the new unit, to assist with set-up and commencement of the service.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse AND holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated computer literacy.
Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
