A rare opportunity is available to join the Cancer Service team as Clinical Nurse Specialist for Palliative and Supportive care as a temporary full time or Part time employee. The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) is responsible for coordinating a seamless journey for patients and carers within the Supportive and Palliative Care service across the care continuum and throughout NBMLHD.
The CNS2 collaborates closely with community health teams, general practitioners, hospital teams and the supportive and palliative care service to co-ordinate and deliver end of life care and palliative care for patients/clients and their family/carers across outpatient, inpatient and the home settings.
The CNS2 is a Registered Nurse who applies a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, experience and skills in providing complex nursing care in Supportive and Palliative Care, with minimum direct supervision.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed: * Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
- Post-registration qualifications in palliative care.
- At least 3 years full time equivalent experience in palliative care nursing.
- Commitment to champion, educate and lead a multidisciplinary team to improve patients’ outcomes as part of a team.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities according to best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, family/carers and a diverse range of health care providers.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development.
- Current driver’s licence and ability to travel within the LHD in accordance with the position.
