The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) Diabetes coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s National Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses, criteria for CNS2 as outlined in the Public Hospital Nurses and Midwives (State) Award and the Policies and Procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD). The CNS2 Diabetes works in collaboration with the broader multidisciplinary diabetes team to provide a coordinated, high quality diabetes service to the local community and inpatient settings and to function as a clinical resource person in the area of diabetes management.
If you have:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a postgraduate qualification in Diabetes Management (recognised by the ADEA), at least 3 years’ clinical experience in the field of diabetes and credentialed by ADEA as a Diabetes Educator
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced clinical expertise in relation to clinical nursing practice and independently make decisions that support good patient care outcomes
- Evidence of clinical leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to plan, deliver and coordinate patient care
- Effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
