The key duties of the position include
- Assist the AD with the hiring of new clinical staff including on-boarding and off-boarding. Provide mentoring of new staff and underperforming staff and advise the AD on issues impacting staff performance, health and wellbeing.
- Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence, to complex cases and contribute to the development and maintenance of best practice in mental health services. Provide advice to the AD and regional leadership team on the management of complex client issues.
- Conduct auditing and risk assessments, and facilitate both individual and group case reviews.
- Train staff in the implementation of new policies, procedures, and standards within the region. Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical services to promote continuous improvement.
- Develop professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and participate in meetings as directed.
- Apply expert clinical knowledge to inform team training and professional development.
- Act as the AD as required.
- Hold a small counselling case load as negotiated with AD.
- Apply the principles of cooperative and safe work practices consistent with APS Values and the Department's mission, vision, approach and values.
