About the Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Clinical Psychologist to join the Growing Healthy Kids Paediatric Weight Management Service. We strive to provide an integrated and family-oriented approach to supporting children and young people who are above a healthy weight and to help them develop positive health habits. You will work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team which also includes administrative support.
This role is a rewarding and exciting opportunity that involves providing clinical assessments, interventions, and care coordination for children and young people and their families/carers. You will also play a part in evaluating the clinical outcomes of services and assisting in service development and research.
This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent or temporary, full-time, part-time positions.
What You'll Be Doing
To deliver specialist psychological and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, interventions and consultation in order to address the needs of clients in SWSLHD Growing Healthy Kids (GHK) Childhood Overweight and Obesity Management Service.
The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.
Growing Healthy Kids contributes to the NSW Premier's priority of a 5% reduction in child overweight and obesity by 2025.
