The Role:
We have 2 opportunities for experienced Clinical Support Nurses - Infectious Disease to join the education team at Northern Health.
As a member of the Northern Health Nursing/Midwifery Education team, this important role will primarily assist in anticipating and responding to the clinical developmental needs of the staff within the Infectious Diseases- Pandemic Ward and across the Medical Respiratory Division. Clinically based, the position will liaise closely with the Nurse Unit Managers and other clinical educators to assist staff in safe practice for Infectious Disease care within NH.
This role involves aspects of program delivery, and performance review through formative and summative feedback and completion of appropriate appraisal processes as deemed by the relevant NH requirements. This includes performing assessments for mandatory and clinical skill development as required within the Infectious Disease scope of practice. This role also supports the concierge infection control practice for staff that are involved in delivery of care related to Infectious disease.
There will be an initial focus (with ongoing monitoring) on CSN support with PPE Compliance in the form of spotting/education and safe infection control practice audit.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Desirable minimum two years' experience in clinical education
- Three years acute experience
- Relevant experience in clinical education and knowledge of undergraduate programs and supervision
- Current AHRPA registration as registered nurse/midwife
- Postgraduate qualification in relevant specialty (public health/infectious diseases/respiratory/medical/clinical education) or working towards
- Current National Police and Working with Children History Check
- Comply with Northern Health Immunisation Policy requirements
