The Position

St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospital provides high quality public and private services to people living in the east metropolitan and Wheatbelt regions.

We are currently seeking a Clinical Trial and Data Management Officer to join our Research Team. In this rewarding role you will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations involved in the implementation of approved clinical trials at St John of God Midland Hospital. This role will primarily be responsible for co-ordination of clinical trials from site selection to study completion which includes:

  • Preparation of initial and on-going ethics submissions
  • Preparing of source documentation
  • Participant data collection and management
  • Preparation of Trial Data for study monitoring
  • Liaison with Principal Investigators, key site stakeholders and vendors ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures
  • Maintaining Site Investigator files
  • Ensuring trials are conducted in accordance with the clinical trial protocol and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
This position is being offered on a permanent part time basis working 60.8 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE).

The successful candidate must meet these essential selection criteria:
  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Degree or equivalent in health or health-related discipline.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication and an ability to facilitate information to patient groups.
  • Able to efficiently carry out procedures to ensure work is as accurate as possible.
  • Prioritise and multitask to achieve desired results.
  • Work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Have an understanding of and ability to apply occupational health and safety principles to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace.
  • Working knowledge of local ethics and governance requirements for clinical research, and other statutory and regulatory requirements including comprehensive understanding of ICH GCP Guidelines, NHMRC Act 1992 and the Privacy Act 1988
