A challenging but fun, dynamic role, for someone with a mature ‘can do’ attitude responsible for growing, developing and supporting RUSU’s diverse student run Clubs.
About The Role
The RMIT University Student Union Incorporated (RUSU) is the representative body of around 75,000 RMIT University students and is an independent organisation from RMIT University. Creating a vibrant campus culture, and providing opportunities for social connections, fun and engagement outside of the classroom is core to RUSU’s purpose.
RUSU has between 80-100 affiliated student-run clubs and societies. This position is responsible for growing, developing and supporting RUSU Clubs. It is student facing with a lot of active service promotion, student interaction, outreach activities and hands on events. It also involves a significant amount of ‘behind the scenes’ organisational, administrative and compliance work to support clubs. E.g., club affiliation, club finances, data entry, risk assessment, assessing and facilitating hundreds of club grant applications each year.
The position works 3 days per week on campus (Tuesday and Thursday are required, with Monday the preferred third day/week). The position is based at the Carlton/City campus. During semester time, 1 day per week (Tuesday) is worked at the RMIT Brunswick campus.
A ‘can do’ attitude, exceptional organisational and administrative skills and a genuine passion for working with students and youth from diverse backgrounds is essential in this role.
RUSU is looking for a friendly and energetic person to join us as the Clubs Officer (City & Brunswick). This position will report to the Student Community Team Leader (Events and Clubs) and will work with other staff members, student representative and volunteers in the activities & clubs departments.
