About Us
Gur A Baradharaw Kod Torres Strait Sea and Land Council (GBK) was established in 2012 as the peak body of all Registered Native Title Bodies Corporates (PBCs) in the Torres Strait. GBK is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support to the native title holders in the region.
Meriba Ged Ngalpun Mab (MGNM) delivers Community Development Program (CDP) Activities in the Torres Strait Region.
About the Role
The Cluster Manager is required to lead the team of Cluster Coordinators and assist and support the operational staff that they supervise to proactively ensure all of the Community Development Program (“CDP”) funding obligations for GBK within the Torres Strait region.
The Cluster Manager will be required to work effectively and efficiently to manage compliance and reporting, finance and performance progress ensuring operations are compliant in adhering to GBK policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience working in community services, CDP or other relevant employment and training programs in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Job Services Australia, Community Development Projects and other labour market programs
- Proven success in managing, leading and coaching teams, implementing operations and maintaining operational performance within the bounds of contractual compliance
- Highly developed problem solving, research, conceptual, analytical skills with the ability to develop practical and forward-thinking operational plans and solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships across a range of stakeholders in the Torres Strait Islands region.
- It is a requirement of the role to provide a National Police Certificate.
- Experience working with First Nations people, particularly in the Torres Strait Islands region and communities
- Qualifications in Business Management or Project Management highly regarded
