CNC Programmer with CAM experience

The role responsibilities include: 

The CNC Programmer will be responsible for ensuring our machines and operators are set up for success.  As our machines are programmed offline, this role is critical in producing the components to the highest quality and precision standards.  Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Write CNC Machine Programs for the manufacture of components through the shop floor;
  • Maintain and continually improve CAM machining data bases and practices;
  • Provide input to and assist develop internal process and standards relating to CAM programming;
  • Produce machining setup sheets;
  • Provide assistance to Project Co-Ordinator's with job quotations (Program and run time, etc);
  • To read and interpret technical drawings/diagrams ;
  • Maintain post process to ensure quality standards are adhered to; 
  • Operate within the companies QMS; and
  • Maintain a tidy and safe work area at all times

The successful candidate will bring:

  • A trade qualification (in a related field such as Metal Machining);
  • Exceptional computer knowledge and skills and experience programming CNC machines (experience with Delcam Powermill is extremely desirable);
  • Previous experience in programming CNC machines or offline programming is essential;
  • Experience or understanding of the Defence Industry is highly advantageous; 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams;
  • High attention to detail and strong quality focus is a must, while knowledge of Quality Standards and Requirements is highly advantageous;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to work within a team environment;
  • Focus on continuous improvement.
