Cricket ACT (CACT) is the peak sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion, and administration of cricket throughout the Australian Capital Territory. The vision for CACT is for cricket to be the number 1 sport in the ACT and region. To achieve this vision, CACT has five strategic imperatives:

What you'll work on day-to-day
Coach Development
- Lead and manage the Cricket ACT Coach Development Program based on strategic needs analysis of Cricket ACT and High Performance coaching programs
- Engage with Elite teams Lead to identify and address gaps in Cricket ACT coaching knowledge and monitor current and future coaching workforce needs and trends
- Act as the main point of contact for Cricket ACT on coaching related matters to support and develop a local coaching communication network that provides coaches with access to education, development, and engagement opportunities
- Provide coaching leadership through the coordination and delivery of Cricket ACT’s Coach Education Program, including the Representative (Level Two) Coaching Course (bi-annual)
- Creation of coaching depth charts across all High Performance programs to assist in the management of professional development opportunities within high performance coaching networks
- Ensure all High Performance coaches (full time and contractors) have an up to date Individual Coach Development Plan (ICDP) and collaboratively review/refine this plan every six month
- Develop, promote, and implement an annual calendar of professional development events/programs/seminars, including the annual Coaching program, for coaches throughout the ACT within the agreed budget
- Development and implementation of the Premier Coach and Pathway Coach Development Program, including individual assessment, coach mentoring and performance coaching development.
- Actively coach within the ACTive program (min of two hours a week), in line with all High Performance Coach requirements while actively coach within the Male/Female/Rookie Programs as required.
Communication & Reporting
- Maintain regular correspondence with relevant department members through the appropriate platforms and channels (Teams, AMS) and actively contribute to team meetings
- Identify and manage key internal relationships to support collaborative planning and refinement of strategies to meet the objectives of the Department and Cricket ACT
- Establish relationships with key relevant external stakeholders (including Junior and Premier Cricket Clubs)
General
- Operate within program operational budgets
- Ensure adherence to appropriate standards of safety, welfare and health
- Undertake other associated duties consistent with the standing and responsibilities of the position as reasonably requested by the Elite Teams Lead.
- Demonstrate a team-based approach to achieving the best outcomes for CACT in accordance with CACT’s How We Play Behaviours
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Qualifications
- Minimum Representative (Level 3) Cricket Coaching Accreditation (Cricket Australia or equivalent)
Essential
- Success with building High Performance cultures and the development of high performance teams and coaches
- High level experience in relation to the development, implementation and delivery of coach development programs and modern technical innovations
- Highly developed knowledge and understanding of cricket and coaching pedagogy and a preparedness to embrace current coaching trends and developments
- Exceptional work ethic including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work commitments and deadlines, whilst maintaining a close attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with the flexibility to interact with a wide range of staff and stakeholders including professional staff and volunteers
- Experience with assessment and monitoring to design individual coaching development plans
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexible time commitment with the ability to work on weekends and out of hours on occasions
- Strong set of personal values which are totally alignedwith cricket’s values of accountability, excellence, honesty,trust, and teamwork
- Current driver’s license
- First aid certificate
Desirable
- Further and/or Higher Education qualification in a related field e.g sport science/coaching/education or management

Child Protection
It is your duty to comply with Australian Cricket’s Looking After Our Kids for Australian Cricket Personnel and Australian Cricket’s Commitment Statement to Safeguarding Children and Young People, designed to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people involved in the sport of cricket. As part of your duty, you must recognise that children and young people require special care and attention to feel safe and you will be committed to protecting and prioritising the safety of children and young people involved in CACT programs and services.
Governance
It is your duty to comply with CACT’s policies and procedures which set out governance standards and manage risks for our organisation. You are responsible for being aware of and complying with the policies and procedures.
