Position overview
Permanent Part Time (PPT) or casual positions are available. PPT hours range from a minimum of 21 hours per week to 35 hours per week with the option to work permanent full-time hours (38 hours per week). As an Electronic Gaming Cashier at Wrest Point, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable experience during their visit. Your exceptional customer service skills will shine as you engage with guests, assist with payouts, and contribute to maintaining a vibrant and positive atmosphere. Your passion for learning will enable you to adapt to the ever-evolving casino industry.
The Cashier role requires the ability to plan and manage work in a timely manner in a highly regulated environment. You will be required to handle large amounts of cash during a shift without making errors, therefore a high proficiency in arithmetic is essential. You will be required to undertake mathematical and accuracy assessments as part of the recruitment process.
You will need to be able to manage cash flow for your area and recognise when to replenish cash.
Once competent as an Electronic Gaming Cashier you may be given opportunity to upskill into becoming a Main Cage cashier in the Casino Cash Desk, where there may be an opportunity to advance to supervisory level.
The Casino Cash Desk is the internal bank for the property and is where your banking and high volume cash handling skills can really shine.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as high proficiency in arithmetic
- Excellent cash handling and numerical dexterity
- An ability to adhere to strict policies and procedures in a highly regulated environment
- A passion for customer service excellence and exceeding customer expectations
- The ability to obtain a Tasmanian Gaming Licence and a Responsible Conduct of Gambling Certificate
- Consistent reliability with the proven flexibility to work to business demands including nights, weekends and public holidays
