We are seeking a Cafe Assistant to work alongside our Café Convenor in our busy College Cafe, with the ability to cover leave occasionally if required.
What you bring to the role:
- Experience in food service and knowledge of the nutritional requirements of school-aged children is an advantage,
- Organisational skills, initiative and enthusiasm, and
- Excellent team work, communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
The role will include:
- Food preparation and cooking,
- Frontline service with a high level of customer service to students and staff,
- Daily cleaning and tidying of the Café,
- Following of Safe Food Handling and Hygiene Regulations and Procedures,
- Purchase and operation of the College Monitor cashless café system machines,
- Receiving of stock orders and ensuring stock is stored in a clean and tidy manner, and
- Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment where flexibility is required.
To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:
- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
Position tenure: Fixed Term
Weeks worked: School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)
Tenure duration (where Fixed Term): Remainder of the 2023 School Year
Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: 10 hours per week (days to be negotiated.)
Salary level, range or hourly rate: Services Staff Level 2 - $29.35 per hour
