About the role
We are currently seeking a Communications Advisor for our Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package (WTP) project.
A consortium between Gamuda Australia and Laing O’Rourke has been awarded a $2.16 billion contract to start tunnelling on the mega Sydney Metro West project.
Construction includes the delivery of 9 kilometres of twin, metro rail tunnels between Westmead and Sydney Olympic Park; excavation of new station boxes at Westmead and Parramatta; excavation for a services facility and crossover structure at Rosehill; earthworks, utilities and connecting tunnels for a Maintenance and Stabling Facility at Clyde; and a precast concrete segment factory at Eastern Creek.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of communications materials including drafting fact sheets, notifications, newsletters, media responses and responses to stakeholders and community members
- Support the Community Place Manager to deliver community engagement activities and events
- Assist in the planning and development of internal communication at corporate and project levels
- Assist in the identification, development and management of promotional opportunities for the project and its construction (i.e media, presentations, milestones etc).
About you
- At least two to three years of communications experience and/or community liaison/stakeholder engagement experience
- Experience working on a construction site and in the construction industry is desirable but not essential
- A qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or similar would be beneficial
