We are pleased to welcome applications for a new role within the Australia Sector.
Reporting to the Australia Sector Chief Executive, as our Communications Director you will lead the Communications Function and provide strategic communications support to the Chief Executive and leadership team whilst also leading on the development and planning of internal and external communications and marketing activities across the Sector.
In terms of location, this role may be based from Adelaide, Canberra or Melbourne to suit you.
When it comes to the specific responsibilities of this key role, you will make your impact through:
- Development and execution of an Australia Sector Communications Strategy that builds, protects and enhances reputation across the multi-national, Australia Sector markets
- Provision of strategic leadership to the Communications Function; fostering a supportive working environment and one which enables employees to thrive and perform
- Provision of input into the strategic business planning process to ensure appropriate resources are in place to deliver the Communications strategy
- Management of the design and implementation of communications processes
- Development and delivery of an innovative internal communications program
- Collaboration with and support of Group (HQ) communications efforts to communicate relevant Australia Sector information to investors and leverage news-flow to employees and global stakeholders
- Management of Australia Sector relationships with key external stakeholders in the media
- Establishment of proactive approach to issues and crisis management
- ffective management of the Communications budget and resources
- embership of the global Communications leadership team via the QinetiQ Communications Council
As our ideal applicant, you will present with:
- Substantial experience in corporate communications and/or marketing gained either within the Defence Industry or an ASX Listed company in Australia underpinned by relevant tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in communications strategy development and execution
- Demonstrated ability to lead high performing, geographically dispersed teams
- A strong understanding of campaign management in a corporate or political environment
- Demonstrated practical knowledge and experience in issues and crisis management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong relationship building abilities with both internal and external stakeholders
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
