  • Full-Time (Fixed Term until 22/11/2024)
  • Level 6, Salary from $87,329 to $94,389 per annum, plus superannuation

About Position

The City is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Communications Officer to join our Communications and Brand team in a fixed term role.

This role is a key position within the Communications and Brand team, and is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating media and communications materials that support the City to engage with employees and the community, including speeches, newsletters, media statements, online content, publications, and campaign collateral.

The role also contributes to a range of activities that require media and communications support, such as photography, videography, multimedia library management and media monitoring.

Assisting the Media Team with proactive opportunities, the role also has a strong focus on sourcing and promoting good news stories that highlight the benefits of City programs and services.

About You

You will be an experienced communications professional who thrives on thinking strategically and making things happen in a busy and dynamic working environment.

You will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities through your resume and covering letter:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline such as communication, public relations or journalism or relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience developing and delivering tailored content to reach target audiences using a variety of different communication channels.
  • Thinking outside the box on ways to engage different audiences.
  • Working collaboratively with your team members and supporting them to deliver as one team.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Advanced communication and problem-solving skills.
