Community Development Coordinator

How you’ll make a difference
As the Coordinator Community Development, you will be multi-skilled and passionate about communities. You will lead the Community Development team to develop and deliver sound and innovative initiatives to support and build capacity of Alpine Shire communities and community organisations.
With a commitment to developing a vibrant, connected and resilient community, you will work closely with your team to deliver a range of important initiatives, including:

  • Input into leading the implementation, reporting and evaluation of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan Action Plan, the Access and Inclusion Plan and the Reflect Reconciliation Plan.
  • Work with your collleagues to ensure that activity identified across the various identified plans for delivery by the Community Development team is planned, budgeted for and delivered.
  • Coordinate Council’s annual Community Grant program.
  • Engage with community groups and individuals, to understand the evolving issues impacting Alpine Shire communities, and provide a conduit for community feedback to Council where appropriate.
  • Strengthen community partnerships and work with key stakeholders to deliver and support health and wellbeing priorities through effective communication and engagement.
  • Keep abreast of external service, program and funding opportunities available to community groups and promote as appropriate.
  • Engage and support committees of management to ensure effective functioning.
