The Role
Make a difference in our community!

This role sits within a larger team of engagement practitioners responsible for designing and delivering community engagement initiatives across the municipality. Reporting to the Strategic Community Engagement Coordinator you’ll provide specialist advice and support across Council to help us deliver a successful community engagement program. Through a range of approaches and opportunities, you’ll help us bring our A Voice for All: Community Engagement Policy 2021 to empower our community to play a role in influencing the future planning of our City, and the delivery of our services.

About you
The desired candidate/s will have:

  • Proven experience and skills in designing and implementing deliberate, proactive community engagement activities.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships with key stakeholders and communities both internally and external.
  • The ability to identify issues and impacts along with problem-solving skills to determine best outcomes for the project.
  • Understanding of IAP2 practices and commitment to well planned, deliberate and accessible engagement opportunities.
  • Excellent time management and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve specific objectives within desired timeframe despite conflicting pressures
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
