Job Description:
Vibrant Diverse Cultures Incorporated is seeking a Community Engagement Worker to join our dynamic and inclusive team. The successful candidate will have a passion for, and experience in, community outreach, engagement, and program management, with an emphasis on celebrating and supporting diverse cultures.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize, and implement community outreach programs in collaboration with local organizations, schools, and community members.
2. Raise awareness of our organization and its goals, while promoting appreciation for cultural diversity.
3. Develop positive relationships with community leaders, members, and diverse cultural groups to facilitate and encourage multi-cultural participation.
4. Organize and host educational workshops, community meetings, events and presentations that embrace and showcase cultural diversity.
5. Respond to community inquiries and provide proper referral resources.
6. Develop, implement and evaluate strategies to encourage community integration.
7. Prepare and disseminate materials to promote cultural understanding and appreciation.
8. Collect, report and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of community outreach programs.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community outreach, coordination, or a similar role.
3. Proven ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups.
4. Excellent interpersonal, networking, and partnership-building skills.
5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, and possess a high level of attention to detail.
6. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
9. Fluency in a language other than English is a plus.
10. Current valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation, as travel to different community locations will be required.
