Job description

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is offering a fantastic opportunity for a passionate community minded individual to join our Community Rangers team at our Animal Management Facility.

In this role you are primarily responsible for patrolling the local area and ensuring all relevant laws, regulations and policies are adhered to. This includes investigating complaints from the public, issuing infringement notices, enforcing parking local laws, attending to pound related duties and maintaining the highest standard of customer service at all times.

Your ability to interpret relevant Acts, Regulations, local laws and policies will be applied in your day-to-day duties. You will be required to actively conduct investigations, gather evidence, take statements and prepare briefs.

This position requires a highly motivated individual, who has the ability to deal with challenging customers at times, whilst having a strong passion and commitment for customer service. You will have demonstrated experience in negotiation skills, well developed written and verbal communication, and experience in report writing and interviewing.  Proficiency in using a range of integrated technology and Microsoft Office Suite will be highly regarded.

You will work efficiently, both in a team and autonomously, and possess strong time management and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will help drive the City’s objective of an education before enforcement approach to local laws, and will work with a wide range of stakeholders to help create a safer community. Ideally, the preferred applicant will have experience working in local laws, however this is not mandatory as extensive on the job training is provided.

The position is primarily Monday to Friday but also requires weekends, public holidays and on call (after hours) – on a rotating basis with generous loading rates applied.

Total Package

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Salary ranges between $66,289 - $79,989 plus additional loading
