A ‘happy-go-lucky’ 42 year-old guy, who loves music, poetry, photography, sport and swimming seeks 2 additional workers to join his friendly, dedicated support team. He has a fabulous sense of humour and enjoys going to local community events, cafes and parks. He also loves dogs, and has a gorgeous dog that he adores (you must love dogs too!)
He has a disability, however, experience working with people with disabilities is not necessarily required as full training will be provided. The position does entail personal care; the training for this is provided and uncomplicated.
SHIFTS:
The successful candidates will be available for the following shifts, following completion of training and clearances:
- Friday - 7am till 12pm
- Sunday - (1 overnight per fortnight) 4pm till 9am Monday morning
- Monthly team meetings (held on a weeknight with the potential to Zoom)
- The ability to be flexible is essential, as we are always needing fill-in support for times when staff are on leave or sick (both day and overnight support shifts). The team provides support on a 24/7 roster basis.
ROLE:
- Provide support to attend poetry group and music group on Tuesday nights.
- Provide support to go out (or stay in) and enjoy music, poetry, photography, sport, invite friends over for dinner and involve himself in the community
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living in his home
- Provide support to communicate using alternative communication techniques (training provided)
- Mowing and maintaining the yard
REQUIREMENTS:
- Driver's license and a roadworthy vehicle;
- Excellent English skills as alternative communication method is required;
- Availability for the listed shifts, as well as flexibility for additional hours when needed;
- Reasonable location to the Stafford area;
- Blue card / yellow card / NDIS clearance check; or the ability to obtain one.
- Up to date Covid vaccination Certificate
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate or willing to obtain before start date
- Covid Infection Control Training Certificate or willing to obtain before start date
