Job Description:
As a HammondCare At Home volunteer, you’ll spend time with an elderly person in your local community each week in their home. You'll help to improve their quality of life and help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
A Lady in North Turramurra who has a passion for birds and is is a little hard of hearing would like to meet someone to chat with and watch birds around her home during your visits.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with. The Community Visitor Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between elderly people and their local community.
