Delivery of a surf sports calendar of events
- Liaise with key stakeholders to schedule a season of events
- Manage the sanctioning process for clubs/branches and the effective publication & marketing of season schedules and specific events
- Develop proposals to enhance the competition structure of surf sports
- Prepare a Safety Operations Manual (SOM) for each event and, review and update as required
- Represent SLSNSW on the Safety Committee and Championships Committee as required and take minutes.
- Oversee the Event Staging Coordinator to ensure all event logistics and planning on time and within budget
- Prepare and distribute Event Circulars aligned to schedule
- Manage the eligibility & entry process for events
- Coordinate the sourcing & allocation of event officials
- Manage the formation of event draws and seedings as required
- Ensure the required technology solutions are in place, with contingency plans
- Assist with the preparation/availability of field of play equipment for events
- Develop water safety, powercraft and other rosters for each event.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of reports (including teleconferences and meetings)
- Work in collaboration with the media and communications team to develop engaging promotional material
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sports Management (or related discipline) and minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience
- Ability to work in an outdoor and office environment,
- Physical fitness for manual handling tasks during events
- Strong Interpersonal skills including relationship building & negotiation with internal & external decisions makers
- Ability to handle stressful and conflicting situations in a fluid environment
- Ability to problem solve & independently make decisions
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and budgets, multi-task and prioritise
- A team player with a collaborative approach
- Accuracy and high attention to detail
- Ability to undertake travel as required and flexible approach to work hours – must be willing to work weekends as required (with time in lieu provided).
- Current driver’s licence
- Demonstrated experience in leading event teams - desirable
