This role contributes directly to the Telstra Enterprise (TE) objectives of retaining and growing revenue, ensuring profitability of our products and services, reducing, and managing risk and improving customer satisfaction.
As the Senior Contract Specialist, you will operate as part of the dynamic, responsive, and supportive Customer Commercial and Contract Management Team negotiating, managing and consulting on significant and complex Government and Enterprise carriage and service contracts.
Your Key Accountabilities:
CONTRACT AND COMMERCIAL ADVICE:
Creating contracts that are commercial, compliant, and deliverable and a focus on removing, reducing, or managing contractual risk
Primary point of contact for contract scope interpretation
Assist and support in the resolution of contract or commercial disputes with the Customer
CONTRACT DOCUMENT GOVERNANCE:
Ensure appropriate document governance is followed in relation to all contractual artefacts during the contract lifecycle including obligations relating to document retention, storage, availability, and post contract termination
CONTRACT MANAGEMENT PLAN / SUMMARY:
Develop Contract Management Plans / Summaries and own their maintenance throughout the contract lifecycle (which you will also manage)
CONTRACT VARIATIONS:
Drafting, reviewing and approving contract variation documentation (includes bespoke customer contracts such as Panel Agreements, Gov. Official Orders, etc.)
Work with Legal (internal or external lawyers) to manage contractual change that impact Telstra's rights under the contract
FINANCIAL:
Contribute to the accuracy of customer billing
Manage and close commercial issues through engagement with other Telstra teams (eg. Sales, Pricing)
PEOPLE AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT:
Accept and display the Telstra values
Set clear accountabilities, clearly communicate, and engage with stakeholders
Mandatory:
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, and/or Accounting with strong demonstrated experience managing complex outsourcing contracts in a commercial contract environment
Proven, strong project management skills
Customer focused, willingness to accept and manage accountability
Ability to attain government security clearance, meet requirements of security measures
Good project management skills with the proven ability to manage multiple work demands simultaneously, manage stakeholder engagement, and meet tight deadlines
Strong persuasion and negotiation skills and experience with government organisations and/or large enterprise customers
Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams, manage own workload with multiple competing interests and perform under pressure
Desirable:
A broad knowledge and understanding of industry trends, sectors, and current issues.
Commercial experience in a telecommunications environment.
