About the opportunity

The University of Sydney recently appointed Professor Cameron Turtle as the CLEARbridge Chair of Cancer Immunotherapy. Professor Turtle has recently returned to Australia from Seattle where he led clinical and laboratory research teams conducting multiple investigator-initiated phase 1 clinical trials of genetically modified cellular (CAR-T cell) immunotherapies for patients with haematologic malignancies.

The Faculty of Medicine and Health has a great opportunity for a Computational Biologist to join Professor Turtle's new Sydney based research team, in the School of Medical Sciences. The Computational Biologist will work in collaboration with research teams based locally and in Seattle to analyse data gathered from the Sydney based lab.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • analyse data gathered from research teams in Sydney, including single cell RNAseq, CITEseq, epigenomic, and multiplexed imaging data.
  • collaborate with research teams at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle to learn and perform data analyses
About you
  • tertiary qualifications in biostatistics, computational biology or similar related areas
  • experience delivering high quality statistical research outputs
  • experience working with Python and R
  • experience with analyses of sequencing data (e.g., single cell RNAseq/CITEseq data, epigenomic data, and multiplexed imaging data) will be advantageous.
