Job Description
Under direction:
- Participates in developing and implementing construction and fabrication projects for park and visitor services infrastructure across the district and sometimes across the region.

Please refer to the ‘How to Apply’ section of this advertisement. * Sound knowledge and experience in the construction and maintenance of parks infrastructure with a preference for infrastructure relevant to the department.
- Some experience in planning and implementing works programs in an efficient manner, organising resources, determining day to day priorities and ensuring best practice quality control measures are achieved.
- Experience in liaising with and negotiating with other parties to ensure all factors are taken into account before operational works commence.
- Sound oral and interpersonal skills, and proven ability to work with employees and contractors with limited supervision and work effectively in a team.
- Sound writing skills including proven ability to produce reports and apply computer skills relevant to the requirements of the job.
- Ability to undertake roles in incident and fire management activities and physically fit for "on-the-ground" operational fire work and ongoing willingness and ability to participate in fire management activities that contribute to bushfire suppression and prescribed burning operations commensurate with capability, capacity, training and level of experience.
- Understanding of occupational, health and safety, equity and diversity principles and practices.
- Current "C" class driver's licence, with a preference for someone with an "HR" class driver's licence.
- Trade qualification relevant to construction.
- Knowledge of the principles and experience in the practices of visitor risk management.
- Current First Aid certificate.
