About the Role
ConnectSydney, a dynamic joint venture between Service Stream, Boral and Johnson Controls, will be delivering the Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract for the Harbour Zone in metropolitan Sydney. The Construction Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the formation; documentation and estimation of work methodology pertain to the construction of ITS projects and maintenance works.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of project managers, project engineers and supervisors to deliver ITS projects (portfolio) on time and within agreed construction budget
Own and manage construction program of ITS projects (portfolio) and report any deviations
Monitor construction progress and compile monthly reports detailing cost, time, safety, and environmental aspects.
Own and manage agreed construction budgets of ITS projects from the completion of design phase in collaboration with PMs
Provide monthly forecast inputs for pavement and line marking projects in post design completion phase. Report immediately any event which will significantly change previous forecasts in collaboration with PMs
Assist PMs in the preparation of full and complete construction works estimates
Undertake the preparation of business tender documents and ensure they are undertaken in a way that protects company interests
Review, create and implement strategies that increase the efficiencies of ITS project delivery and maintenance works
Be involved in the development and implementation of bid strategies
Contribute toward the continuous improvement of all aspects of our business systems, policies, and procedures
Update Construction Milestones in JAMS of ITS projects
Oversee the management and administration of sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure works are executed to the satisfaction of the client and in accordance with agreed specifications, terms, conditions, and budget
Manage the performance of all reporting staff including establishment of clear responsibilities and authorities in accordance with ConnectSydney performance review procedures
Ensure all Safety, Quality, Environmental, community, sustainability requirements are met as part of development and delivery of all construction delivery
About You
Tertiary qualifications in ITS Engineering or a related discipline
Demonstrated strong experience in civil construction, project management, road maintenance, network contracts and business development.
Demonstrated experience in ITS construction delivery
Advanced problem-solving skills
Sound Knowledge of Microsoft Office suit, MS Project.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work within a team.
Results driven, ability to meet strict deadlines.
Sound cost management and tracking skills
