Job description

At EY, you'll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we're counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

Consultant Role - Environment Health and Safety

What if your career could have a lasting impact on you, and the World?

At EY we believe that whoever you are, your uniqueness helps us stand apart.

We bring together extraordinary people, like you, to build a better working world.

What's in it for you?

We are looking for Consultants (with more than 1 year of professional experience) to join our growing national health and safety consulting team based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth on either a full or part-time basis.

As our consultant you'll:

  • Work under the mentorship of our industry renowned team leaders
  • Engage with our clients in Oceania to strategically diagnose health, safety and wellbeing challenges, designing and implementing the right solutions based on better practice and risk-based approaches.
  • Help enhance a key strength of our team, which is how we apply our diversity of skillsets and professional backgrounds to build the right solutions for our clients based on their specific needs.
Your key responsibilities

You will work in a leading national team of multidisciplinary health, safety and wellbeing professionals assisting organisations across a range of industries to transform their approach to health, safety and wellbeing. You will contribute across a variety of projects involving physical and psychosocial risk management, strategy, audit and analytical frameworks, culture change and leadership, to help clients succeed and navigate complex operating and regulatory environments.

What we're looking for

Here's our 'wish list' but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes. We're interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go. You will have:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • A curious mindset, strong desire to learn, grow and upskill.
  • Genuine interest in health, safety and/or wellbeing.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proactive approach to take initiative and identify new opportunities.
  • Experience working well as part of a high-performing team.
  • The ability to travel intra and interstate as required.
Ideally you will have experience or education in one or more of the following areas: risk management, consulting, auditing, technical health and safety, organisational psychology, psychosocial risk, wellbeing, property risk, construction and engineering, business management, workers compensation, or environmental sciences.

However, if your experience lies outside these areas, but you have a passion for health, safety and wellbeing, problem solving and continuously challenging yourself, we still want to hear from you. Our team has a strong culture of coaching and development, welcoming the advantages that new skillsets and perspectives can bring.
