Customer Engagement Representative

Love EV's? Tesla? BYD? MG? Polestar?  Are you interested in new sustainable energy resources.  9.7% of all new cars sold this year (2024) have been EVs.  The EV revolution is coming.  And KOBA is positioning ourselves to become a major player in it's adoption. 

We are looking for a Customer Engagement team member who will join us in our early phase as we set about growing our customer base.  We need you to bring your can-do attitude, friendly nature, natural curiosity, and attention to detail and apply these skills to the task of getting new customers on board and keeping the existing ones happy with the choice they made.

As a startup we have a very clear goal for growth and industry leading customer service experience.   It’s not good enough to just offer an industry standard experience, we want to revolutionise the insurance service industry and this role will be a primary driver of this change.   

A start up culture is unique, fast, loud, passionate, and iterative; it can be messy at times but it’s not chaotic or clumsy.  At KOBA we rely on good discipline, structure and processes to achieve speed and scale.  Our leadership team has 20+ years of growing corporate insurance businesses and high growth startups. 

Your key responsibilities will be constant and high quality communications between you and our customers.  That being said, as a start up, In the first 12 months you could also be involved in everything from complex strategy to product management and packing boxes to ship.

You will have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.  You’ve probably been working in retail or hospitality for the past few years and are now looking to step into a corporate role.  

You are a proactive problem-solver and have the ability to handle objections or customer concerns effectively.  A successful candidate will be eager to learn and grow and have a strong desire to stay updated on industry trends and advancements.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced customer service expert.  You will play a crucial role as the first point of contact for all customers and represent the customers needs during internal discussions. The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with a proven track record in sales, possesses a great attitude, and has a passion for working in a startup environment that embraces technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming customer inquiries and issues via phone, email, and chat with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Provide product information and assistance to customers, helping them make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Effectively resolve customer concerns, complaints, and requests in a timely and empathetic manner.
  • Identify sales opportunities and promote our products or services to customers while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Make outbound calls to prospects seeking more information about the product and our service.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed customer records, including order information, contact interactions, and issue resolutions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient resolution of customer issues.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on product knowledge and customer service best practices.
  • Meet and exceed performance targets for customer satisfaction, sales, and service metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven sales and customer service experience, preferably in the insurance industry or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
  • Self-motivated and target-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to handle objections or customer concerns effectively.
  • A University degree is not required, but an eagerness to learn is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment and embrace technology tools and platforms.

Salary Package

  • Base: $65,000 - $80,000 based on experience
  • Employee Share Options Plan (company ownership structure)
