An Australian Federal Government agency is looking to engage a skilled & experienced Contract Manager/ Procurement Specialist to Lead the development and execution of negotiation strategies, contract obligations, identification of risks and opportunities, cost, quality and schedule requirements. Based in their Brisbane office, the successful Contract Manager/ Procurement Specialist will receive a rewarding non-ongoing (fixed term) 6 - 12-month engagement.
The successful Contract Manager/ Procurement Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Lead the development and execution of negotiation strategies, contract obligations, identification of risks and opportunities, cost, quality and schedule requirements.
Provide guidance and mentorship to the Contracts Coordinator and Contracts Officer and provide ongoing support to peers
Contribute to the development of contracts by; drafting contracts and variations, arranging execution in accordance with delegations of authority, maintaining contract information
Coordinate the delivery of the legislative contractual obligations.
To be successful, the Contract Manager/ Procurement Specialist must have/ be experienced in the following:
Experience in a Contract Manager/ Procurement Specialist position or similar with qualifications in contracts and procurement highly desirable.
Strong leadership and management skills and the ability to build capability and provide support to staff dealing with high workloads and sometimes stressful external stakeholder interactions
Sound judgement, analytical skills and ability to understand and apply legislation and make delegated decisions and In depth knowledge and experience in administrative decision making or be able to demonstrate a capacity to quickly acquire this knowledge
Excellent attention to detail, strong written communication skills, and adept time management skills.
