Within the Australia Post Group (Australia Post & StarTrack), Group Security is tasked with the development and implementation of strategies to protect the organisation, our people, and customers from security threats.
This position is responsible for undertaking day-to-day monitoring and security systems related activities. The role uses insights gained to advise Group Security to ensure strategies, tactics, policies, and procedures are aligned or ahead of market and industry trends. This position reports to the Supervisor, National Security Control Centre (NSCC).
What you will be doing:
- Execute duties with the required level of diligence, care, and responsibility, such as intercom answering, granting access remotely, CCTV monitoring and patrols
- Day-to-day administration of national access card system including card issuing, removing terminated employees, auditing unusual activity, and following up anomalies with sites.
- Undertake administrative functions of the NSCC such as completing log sheets, reporting, card printing and despatch, programming of permissions & actioning alerts
- Act relative to Lost in Transit (LIT) trends, intelligence and direction from Group Security and site management for follow-up and consideration during monitoring activities.
- Work in accordance with policy/guidelines for the monitoring, recording, and sharing of CCTV images.
- Report on opportunities that improve safety and security to demonstrate the value added by the NSCC.
- Report security issues requiring manual overrides, replacement or maintenance, e.g. CCTV camera maintenance or replacement.
- Work collaboratively with sub-contracted guards to improve safety and security.
- Maintain access control database and ensure six-monthly access card audits are undertaken
- Adhoc tasks as required by the business
- Demonstrated background in 24/7 Control Room Operations encompassing CCTV System usage, remote monitoring, alarm response and the provision of remote services such as intercom responses, access/egress to remote controlled sites and activities such as remote CCTV system patrols.
- Situation/crisis handling response skills
- Knowledge of tools and techniques used in monitoring of CCTV, access/egress at remote locations.
- Ability to Identify and build strong collaborative relationships with other team members in the NSCC and key stakeholders.
- Awareness of video analytic generated events or review tasks in maintaining a safe and secure work environment and mitigation of risk and product losses
- Excellent communication skills (written/verbal) to ensure key messages are delivered and understood particularly during critical events.
- Demonstrated proficient with use of MS-Office suite of programs (including advanced Excel)
- Demonstrated ability to organise daily workload, prioritise tasks and manage competing work demands
