The Opportunity:
We have a great opportunity, and position available, for an experienced Electrical Control & Automation Systems Engineer, to join our truly passionate and vibrant team. Reporting to the Control Solutions Division Manager, the key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- System design, programming, and commissioning
- Consistently meeting predefined project targets
- The design and development of electrical control systems including generating and understanding:
- P&I Diagrams/Drawings
- AutoCAD Electrical General Arrangement 2D Drawings
- AutoCAD Electrical Circuit Diagrams
- PLC Programming – Allen Bradley, Siemens & Omron
- Comms Protocol e.g. Modbus/BACnet etc
- Ensuring electrical compliance with relevant Australian Standards
- Liaison with internal departments including Sales, Operations and Production.
- Liaison with clients of the company to understand application needs, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee post-production system functionality testing.
- Troubleshooting system or function errors.
- Preparing documentation for system design and process development.
- Provide remote Technical Support to on-site system installers.
About You:
- To be successful in this role you will need to be able to provide evidence of working experience in Control System design, ideally in an industrial automation or manufacturing, environment, and:
- Possess an Australian recognised and accredited tertiary qualification in Electrical and or Electronics Engineering
- Have at least 3 years experience as a PLC programmer
- Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical software.
- Have detailed knowledge of PLC automation software, and coding languages.
- Have experience in instrumentation and control system logic
- Be a team player with a good work ethic
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to work effectively, both autonomously and within a team.
- Have initiative and a positive attitude towards continuous improvement & self-development.
Desirable:
- Experience working with Omron and Allen-Bradley PLC’s
