- Cook role based in our residential aged care home in Galston
- Permanent Part time position, working Saturday and Sundays, 8am-4pm
- Salary packaging opportunities up to $15,900 per year
Exciting Opportunity for a Cook to join our 74 bed aged care home at Mark Donaldson House in Galston. The role is to work through the weekend with a great team and delivering nutritious meals to our elderly residents in line with their choices and preferences.
The role will involve:
- Preparation and cooking of various meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
- Complying with all infection control and safe food handling procedures
- Liaising with our residents, their families, and the care team
- Timely completion of all required documentation and reporting
Skills and Experience required
- Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred
- Verifiable experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within Aged Care, Hospital or similar environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to solve problems independently
- An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid RSL LifeCare Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
