Cook/Chef

We are Quest Coffee Roasters, a long established cafe and coffee roastery with a loyal community following in Burleigh Heads and the Gold Coast. We are known for organic, specialty coffee, delicious in house baked cakes and treats, and friendly café service. We have two locations in Burleigh Heads and are planning to open a new Broadbeach location in May 2023. We are looking for an experienced Head Chef / Cook to run the kitchen at the new location (70 seats). Although the new location doesn’t open until May, there will be work required beforehand to prepare menus and recipes for the new location.

You’ll be working with a team that is young, energised, passionate, and you’ll be supported by experienced professionals within coffee, product, and business backgrounds. • Food preparation and cooking
• Breakfast and lunch menu development
• Establishing kitchen and cooking procedures
• Providing instructions and directions to cafe team
• Ordering, and maintaining inventories
• Attention to detail and presentation
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations

ABOUT YOU

Professional Requirements

• 2+ years experience as a professional cook
• Strong listening and verbal communication skills
• A strong understanding of health and safety

Personal Requirements

• Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate visa to work in Australia
• Availability to work at least 1 weekend day every 2nd week
• Availability to work shifts from 5:30am to 3:00pm weekdays, and between hours 5am to 5pm on weekends.
• Loves cooking and healthy food
• Own transport to and from work

Nice to have

• Professional cooking qualification

Salary: $27.50 – $29.50 per hour
