About the role
Council’s Operations Department is looking for a Coordinator – City Works who will be responsible for the planning, leading and management of the City Works section. This includes roads, footpath and drainage maintenance, playgrounds, boardwalks, cleansing and amenity services.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing operational input into and advice on the development of strategies, policies and procedures for the design, delivery and management of Council’s infrastructure assets.
- Planning and delivery of high quality, cost effective maintenance services relating to the full spectrum of Council’s City works infrastructure
- The management and coordination of activities and responsibilities associated with the Operations Centre and Store
About you
- Extensive and diverse experience in the maintenance of drains, roads, footpaths, playgrounds, cleansing and amenity services
- Proven extensive experience managing a large team of people;
- A self starter, with well-developed skills in time management, setting priorities, programming, planning and organising one’s own work and that of a large number of employees
- Demonstrated ability to lead with influence, including the ability to negotiate, cooperate and gain assistance from internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives.
- Advanced written and verbal communications skills
- A thorough understanding and demonstrated application of project management principles, practices, tendering and contract management.
- Passionate about driving opportunities for continuous improvement.
