This is a part-time position. The successful applicant will be required to work 37.5 hours per fortnight.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

This role coordinates the State Intelligence and Command (State Operations Command) transactional corporate service support functions related to human, physical and financial resourcing issues in accordance with corporate direction and priorities. Assists with the planning and facilitation of various initiatives underpinned by corporate objectives and aligns policies, systems and practices in the Portfolio / District / Division with Corporate Service Management Division directives.

SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE

It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to receive a waiver.

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages:

Financial and budget management skills

  • Supporting the financial function by providing budget advice to management. Coordinating, developing and monitoring budgets/financial plans. Financial forecasting, analysing and compiling financial information
Knowledge of HR policies, practices and procedures
  • Advising on and interpreting relevant human resource legislation, policies and procedures
Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.

The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.

OTHER CONDITIONS

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.

Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
