The Global Communications Team leads the storytelling function at VMware.
This role provides the opportunity to immerse yourself in a broad range of offline and online communications, learning under the guidance of established communications professionals.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
The primary objective of this role is to support the day-to-day running of the Asia Pacific & Japan Communications team, which includes providing key resource support, processes, and systems to help maximise the team's efforts
Within the first twelve months you will have established yourself as a 'go-to' expert for owned social media and content creation by advising and supporting the APJ Communications' social media activity
You'll have also built your knowledge of media, analyst social media, and online content reporting, and be ready to take a more leading role in this
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Play a lead role in our social media channels execution to maximise social media impact with key audiences across APJ (working alongside social media and country communication experts).
Development of key content assets in conjunction with the Senior Manager, Social Media and Content, including social media posts, video, podcasts, infographics, etc.
Provide key resource support, processes, and systems to help maximise the APJ’s team efficiency and communications.
Deliver high quality reports and analysis, using manual and online tools and processes.
Standardising and harmonising country, APJ and Corporate processes to ensure one comms business operating system works across the region to minimise bureaucracy and maximise operational efficiency at APJ, country PR manager and agency support level.
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
We are an APJ team of around 11 communications professionals spanning public relations and reputation, industry analyst relations, social media, content, executive and employee communications. It’s a fast paced, dynamic, collaborative, and exciting environment.
We’re looking for team members with a great attitude, who are smart, thoughtful, collaborative, and organized, and who thrive at the centre of always-on communications.
Where is this role located?
Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
