Our Corporate team provides advice on various corporate and commercial arrangements, as well as transaction management and implementation, and prides itself on having experts in each major industry sector. We are looking for a Senior Associate/ Special Counsel to join the Brisbane Corporate team, with a focus in the food and agribusiness space.
You will be responsible for:
- regulated and unregulated transaction work, from takeover bid or scheme of arrangement, to share and business sale transactions for both domestic and international clients;
- advising on both incorporated and unincorporated joint venture structures, shareholder and unitholder arrangements, cooperatives, and corporate restructures;
- capital raisings, both regulated and unregulated (from early stage financing to IPO, and beyond);
- dealing directly with clients on corporate and commercial matters largely in the food and agribusiness space, with responsibility for client management and engagement;
- project managing complex transactions (including coordinating due diligence and deal implementation);
- drafting, advising and negotiating documents from large multi faceted supply chain arrangements to operational and management contracts; and
- proactively identifying new business opportunities, focusing in food and agribusiness;
As a firm founded on the land to support farmers and graziers, we understand the issues and concerns of the sector better than any other. Many of our clients are industry leaders and we act for some of Australia's largest listed and unlisted public companies, and private companies, cooperatives and family-based operators as well as many international conglomerates.
Experience
You will be a Senior Associate / Special Counsel, with corporate and commercial experience preferably in the food and agribusiness sector. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working in a mid, top-tier or boutique firm (although we will also consider relevant in-house experience), be proactive, have a drive to learn and develop and have a demonstrated interest in business.
In addition, you will have strong drafting skills, attention to detail and enthusiasm to play a part in the continued growth of our practice. An excellent client service ethic, desire to learn and to provide technically excellent advice is essential. You will be a strong communicator and must be able to work well both autonomously and as a part of our close-knit team.
